Prospective Students
Keywords
The Major in Physics in Waseda University covers a vast area of physics, encompassing mathematical physics, nuclear and particle physics, radiation physics, astrophysics, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and physics-based engineering. Faculty members (see below) are actively pursuing cutting-edge research in these fields. The Major in Physics provides the students with a solid basis in physics, which strengthens their way of logical and scientific thinking. The students are going to learn the fundamentals in classical and modern physics and the basics in the physics-based engineering so that they can contribute to discovering as-yet-unknown phenomena in physics, breaking new ground in the discipline, developing epoch-making technologies, and solving global-scale problems.
