Students from the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering won the James Dyson Award 2025 Japan Natinal Winner and National Runner Up.

The James Dyson Foundation has announced the 2025 domestic winners of the James Dyson Award, an international student design and innovation competition. The awards recognize one National Winner and two National Runner Up, with one National Winner and one National Runner Up coming from our Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering.

**National Winner**
“SPHEBOT”
A spherical omnidirectional robot designed for disaster response and exploration of uneven terrain

**National Runner Up**
“ERF Magnetic Tactile Sensors for Soft Robotic Hands”
ERF magnetic tactile sensors for soft robotic hands that maintain flexibility while simultaneously providing tactile sensing and vibration damping capabilities
